Sketchbooks

Sketchbooks are an artist's tool to help brainstorm and jumpstart ideas!
Each page must include:
1. Actual images cut out and glued in 2. Handwritten information, 3. Sketches

Each topic should be two sketchbook pages.

1. 6 stages of clay (Slip, Plastic or Wet, Leather hard, Bone Dry, Bisque, Glaze ware)
2. Pinch Pots (the history, steps/tools for creating in this method, examples of pieces you like in this style)
3. Coil Pots (what is a coil pot, steps/tools for creating in this method, examples of pieces you like in this style)
4. Slab building (what is a slab, steps/tools for creating in this method, examples of pieces you like in this style)
5. What is wedging? (how do you rams head wedge, how do you spiral wedge)

6. Throwing Cylinders ( what is a cylinder, steps/tools for throwing a cylinder)
7. Throwing Bowls (what is a bowl, steps/tools for throwing a bowl)
8. Throwing Plates (what is a plate, steps/tools for throwing a plate)
9. How to trim (tools needed, why do we trim, how do you trim)
10. Glazing (what is glaze, how do you glaze)

All pages should have a clear title at the top.


How to Use Your Sketchbook:


1. Research/Investigate the given ceramic topic, artist and technique.
2. Communicate your research, ideas and reflections by handwriting your findings on each page. 
2. Present images that support each topic by printing out, cutting out and gluing in images for each topic on each page.
4. Sketch out supplemental images of your unique ideas to support each project.


***EACH PAGE MUST include: images, hand written responses/descriptions and sketches***
