Your artist statement is your opportunity to explain your art to your viewers when you are not there to do it yourself.
This statement should be a few sentences that offer insight to your viewer about:
-your background experience with clay
-your inspiration for your show
-your methods of how you created your unique show
-your display choices
-what you are most proud of from this semester
-where do you see yourself in the future, in regards to clay
Use as much Art vocabulary (those who have taken Design Fundamentals will have an easier time here) to be as descriptive as possible.
Remember to use the elements and principles of art which are: Line, Shape, Color, Value, Form, Space, Texture, Pattern, Unity, Balance, Rhythm, Emphasis, Contrast, Harmony, Proportion, Movement, Variety.
Remember to avoid using non-descriptive words such as good, bad, nice, cool, etc. (the word successful is usually a great alternative for "good")
We will peer review these in class before printing them out, to put alongside your art show! Can't wait!!!!
